Tema (Ghana), 15 April 2025 – With the resumption of works on the rehabilitation of the Eastern Corridor Road (ECR) Lot 1 in Ghana, INZAG is on track to complete the second class of its professional training initiative “Female Talents in Construction” (FTC). The programme is a joint project of INZAG Ghana with the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Ghana TVET Service.
Modelled on the German Dual Training system

Theoretical instruction in the FTC classroom at the site campus in Tema.
The FTC programme builds on the renowned German Dual Training system and on INZAG’s in-house training expertise. It continues earlier initiatives such as the “Female Drivers in Construction” project. Theoretical instruction is delivered through two-month modules at locally established Ghanaian companies, followed by a practical phase at a construction site. Successful participants receive a certificate from AHK Ghana.
Practical training during “Workplace Experience Learning” at the ECR site

The first class, predominantly female, completed the “Workplace Experience Learning” (WEL) practical phase at INZAG and graduated in July 2024 with 15 students. The second class of 26 participants is currently in its practical phase at the Tema site, gaining experience in manoeuvring and operating heavy machinery and tipper trucks.

Contributing to Ghana’s industrialisation goal
The programme is particularly dear to the INZAG teams in Germany and Ghana and is a core element of the company’s strategy for sustainable infrastructure development in Africa. INZAG firmly believes that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is key to Ghana’s industrialisation, and that local industry can only grow if it has the right skills.
